Wallets

Before mens wallets became known as a medium in which to store currency, leather pouches were used because coins were the only currency known then. Wallets first came into being during the seventeenth century after paper currency, which was then made of corn paper, became widely used in the West. The earliest wallets were made of superior leather from cow or horse skin and were very sturdy.

If the first wallets were used to store paper currency and coins, modern leather wallets are not that different except for the card slots which were added after credit cards have been introduced in the 1950s. The only noteworthy variation in wallet makes was in the 1970s when Velcro wallets introduced. Today, you'll find wallets made from different materials in all shapes and sizes and for a variety of purposes.

There are leather wallets that can be strung around the neck with a leather string. This is to keep them concealed.

For men, a single bifold is more than enough. For women, their wallet should go with their attire, the occasion, and the stuff they would be carrying with them. Here are the different types of women's wallets:

* The front pocket wallet is thin and rounded and saves space. Designed for a woman who goes on trips and is constantly on the go, the front pocket wallet is made of Napa leather and can hold cash, credit card, coins, and identification cards.
